We are almost at the end our two days in the fascinating and beautiful city of Quebec. We sail tonight at midnight giving us enough time for another meal and several drinks ashore in one of the local bars.
There can be no doubt that Quebec is very picturesque. The old town has photo opportunities at every street corner and it is overlooked by the large medieval style Chateau Fronteac, one of the world’s most photographed hotels.
We spent much of our first day enjoying the beauty of the place before retiring to a Quebec pub for drink and nourishment. It was here that I had the most expensive pint of beer ever. It worked out at £5.96 before tax and the tip. It was delicious though, so much so that I had three of them while Karon had a similarly expensive red wine.
It was then off to a great little bar hidden away in a street corner. The beer was cheaper, the music diverse, and the clientele mostly young and bohemian.
Today we learnt about Quebec’s history at the Musee de la Civilisation, before climbing up to Les Plaines d’Abraham. From here we wlked into the old town for shopping and a coffee.
We’re going back out about 7.30pm for a meal and another visit to the little bar that we found.
